To enhance the retention of newly acquired information, engaging participants in small group activities such as open dialogue, role-playing, games, and workbooks can be beneficial. This interactive method enables individuals to put into practice the information and skills they have gained. Our aim is to cultivate a mentally healthy work environment where employees demonstrate optimal mental well-being while decreasing stigmas around mental health.

meaningful conversations

Sometimes, companies may not be aware of problems within their organization that stem from mental wellbeing. To improve employee satisfaction and identify areas for improvement, it's important to eliminate power dynamics by collecting objective qualitative and quantitative data through an external source.

Operationally meaningful conversations with employees can provide valuable insights for senior leadership and Human Resources departments to improve specific roles, teams, or systems within the organization. This approach not only helps to retain key employees but can also be a redemptive resource for those facing performance challenges.

“It is an honor to meet you on your journey and empower you to live at the highest version of yourself, which may involve establishing more support under your feet, as you walk onto the various elements of life. I work with clients who desire to release broken patterns to abide within wholeness of life at any stage. My ideal clients have a drive for change and impact— whether it’s within their homes or high-pressured careers where the odds are consistently stacked against them. The hope is that you feel safe, supported, seen, heard, understood, confident in your mission and sustained over time.

Our work together may include unmasking your true identity, building self-confidence, constructing a plan to sustain wellness as a new mother or discovering how to mirror your mission in every season. Regardless of the reason for seeking counseling, our work is collaborative in nature, and I strive to ensure each session is person-centered and concludes with a strong sense of expectation and enthusiasm about the future.”

Milk and honey milestones for moms

Perinatal counseling offers a supportive environment for expectant or new mothers to address unspoken concerns during and after pregnancy. It provides an opportunity for women to navigate conflicting emotions and enhance their mental well-being through compassionate support. By improving health, addressing risk factors, and providing education, perinatal counseling helps reduce the likelihood of negative health effects during pregnancy.

MENTAL Milk

Compassionate and Culturally Sensitive Counseling for Symptomatic and High Risk Moms

1 in 5 women will experience a perinatal mood and anxiety disorder during pregnancy or after childbirth. 60% of women of color do not receive mental health treatment for many reasons to include cultural stigmas and lack of culturally-relevant care, yet experience postpartum mood disorders at twice the rate of Caucasian women.

Expectant and postpartum moms experiencing symptoms of perinatal depression and left untreated can lead to premature or underweight births, weaken parent- child bonding and learning and behavior problems later in childhood.

Milk and Honey Milestones for Moms will journey with clients throughout their pregnancy, providing weekly and/or bi-weekly sessions, offering structured curriculum based psychoeducation and serving as a compassionate and supportive element of their comprehensive perinatal care as they navigate through delivery and up to the first year postpartum.

Let’s rebuild and strengthen our whole selves by consistently partaking in mental milk.

This program is available to SC residents.

Perinatal Mental Health Services and Resources for Underserved Communities

Studies show that mental health complications are more common among women in disadvantaged communities. However, women in these areas often face obstacles (ie. Financial lack, transportation barriers, culturally competent care, etc.) when attempting to access treatments and interventions. If left untreated, depression during pregnancy can result in inadequate self-care, heightened substance abuse, poor obstetrical outcomes, developmental delays in children, and a higher likelihood of postpartum depression.

Manna for Moms serves as a resource hub providing access to mental health counseling and community based workshops via Milk and Honey Milestones.

As organizations partner with Milk and Honey Milestones in the Workplace for corporate mental health needs, 10% of their service fee will support the mission of providing culturally competent mental health care and psycho-education to underserved moms and moms-to-be.

"I had the honor of participating in a healing circle led by Asha to honor the lives of lost babies during Infant and Pregnancy Loss Awareness Month. As someone who has experienced such heartache, I appreciated her thoughtful approach to this sensitive subject. I have never experienced anything like this. I was able to acknowledge my grief, count my blessings in the present, and left with hope for the future. This experience is something I will remember for years to come and I will be able to use the tools Asha gave to us to continue the cycle of acknowledgment to hope."— Caroline Goodman, Communications Director
